(15 Minute PRACTICE) Intense Breathwork to Energize the Nervous System w/ Chance York

This breathwork practice uses ‘controlled hyperventilation,’ followed by a couple of slower, deeper breaths to induce a state of alertness in the nervous system. It’s perfect if you are looking for a burst of energy, mood lift, or help focusing!

Rapid breathing in a controlled manner will allow you to self generate noradrenaline, which gives the body a surge of energy and wakefulness. Noradrenaline also boosts the immune system! Lastly, this invigorating breath exercise causes the release of endorphins, a feel-good hormone that creates a state of happiness.

I’ve been largely inspired by Wim Hof and his method and strongly recommend continue your research into the science that his method has led to. Techniques such as these have been practiced for thousands of years by free-divers, and other people performing superhuman feats.

**Disclaimer: throughout the exercise, your blood chemistry will change and you might feel tingling sensations or lightheadedness. Proceed with caution and listen to your body! Do not do this practice while driving or swimming.

MEET YOUR TEACHER

Chance believes that neuroplasticity is a lifestyle. When they say, “perception is reality,” Chance is a person who spends his life researching, practicing, and teaching techniques to help a person shift their perception from being a victim of circumstance to being the curator of opportunity. Every breath, every thought can be a choice: Calm or chaos, peace or panic.
